***The following is a legend for the local systems and measurements commonly referred to in the\u00a0True Realm.\u00a0<\/em>While it is a fair amount of information to take in, only a handful of terms will ever be used in any given situation and always with context, as to help the reader along toward understanding the jargon. In this regard, the following legend is not meant as mandatory reading toward better understanding but rather it is supplementary and just for reference. In other words, don’t feel obliged to know of all these names. I will probably forget many of them in time, just as you, since I won’t be using all of them\u00a0all\u00a0<\/em>of the time!***<\/p>\n

Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n

-1 year = 14 seasons<\/p>\n

-1 season = 28 days<\/p>\n

-4 weeks to a season:<\/p>\n

-Week 1- Addra<\/em> (Reception)<\/p>\n

-Week 2- Nom<\/em> (Worship)<\/p>\n

-Week 3- Bilitzah<\/em> (Prayer)<\/p>\n

-Week 4- Jandrem<\/em> (Celebration)<\/p>\n

Seasons<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seasons on Rynn<\/em> are based around spirituality, not the weather. Seasons are named for the Kaldasian<\/em> system of diety worship, each season the name of the spirit worshipped. The Kaldans\u2014the oldest recorded civilization\u2014held true that the Creator, when burdened with the overwhelming task of building the world, sighed fourteen times, and from each breath came the Taryin<\/em>\u2014\u201cones of great tasks\u201d. Each Taryin<\/em> was assigned a specific duty to accomplish and oversee. There are fourteen Taryin <\/em>in all (one for every season), and they are as follows:<\/p>\n

Kallon<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of earth<\/p>\n

Trimas<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of air<\/p>\n

Vevorgy<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of fire<\/p>\n

Incros<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of time<\/p>\n

Astalam<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of sound<\/p>\n

Prundu<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of smells<\/p>\n

N\u2019nvorziak<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of sight<\/p>\n

Bandell<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of touch<\/p>\n

Ojot<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of tastes<\/p>\n

Sarelo<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of souls\/spirit<\/p>\n

Hunchas<\/em> \u2013 Ruler of emotion<\/p>\n

–Kaldar<\/em> = 100 leave<\/em><\/p>\n

–Ovit<\/em> = <\/strong>approx. the area of a finger tip<\/p>\n

–<\/strong>Square-blade<\/em> = <\/strong>an area one blade<\/em> by one blade<\/em><\/p>\n

–Ample<\/em> = <\/strong>about an acre<\/p>\n

–Blear (or bi-ample)<\/em> = <\/strong>about a hectare<\/p>\n

Weight<\/strong><\/p>\n

–Grain<\/em> = <\/strong>Weight of one grain of sand from the Half-moon Beach<\/em> in Voswun<\/em><\/p>\n

–Bunch <\/em>= Weight of an average handful of grains = about the weight of a large apple = about one pound<\/p>\n

–Ample =\u00a0<\/em>Also called an\u00a0ample-bunch,\u00a0<\/em>approx. 2 handfuls of grains = about 1 kilogram<\/p>\n
